Concussion monitoring in racing: “They’re fairly strict on it. I felt fine myself but obviously I was just a bit slower than I should have been and they weren’t going taking any chances and it’s for the best really. The last thing you want is a head injury.”

On Twitter abuse: “I wouldn’t take any notice of it when I do get it. I’d be flicking through it and would read it no problem. It just doesn’t bother me at

On working at Cullentra House: “You’re working with great horses the whole time. It definitely makes the job a lot easier. There’s great staff in Gordon’s as well. There’s always a good vibe around the place. It’s great craic and I wouldn’t swap it for anything else. Gordon is just a great trainer. He knows that every horse isn’t the same. They’re not machines. They each have their own way and he works around that and treats every horse different.”

On being independent so young: “My friends were doing their mocks last week for the Leaving Cert and I was in work. It’s a big difference.”
