There was dis­ap­point­ment for Bally­bunion on Sun­day when the club lost the Re­vive Ac­tive Four­ball fi­nal to Kil­ly­moon at Royal Tara.

The two sides were in­sep­a­ra­ble to the turn. Carmel Ha­gan and Cather­ine Ir­win of Kil­ly­moon carded the first win on the 15th.

In the top match, Bally­bunion’s Mary Sheehy and Louise Grif­fin were nar­rowly ahead with one hole to play.

How­ever, the last hole went in favour of Mcivor and Mar­shall mean­ing ex­tra holes were needed and Kil­ly­moon emerged win­ners on the 20th.

Ca­tri­ona Cor­ri­gan and Pudge O’reilly won their match 3&1 to keep the Kerry club in the match, and Mar­garet Mcauliffe and Lor­raine Canty beat Heather Camp­bell and Donna Mul­hol­land 2&1.

The tie then hung on the fourth match be­tween Pa­tri­cia Joyce and Mary O’donoghue for Bally­bunion and Kathryn Kerr and Colleen Con­way.

Kil­ly­moon ar­rived at the 18th one up and Con­way sealed the win for the Ul­ster club with a birdie four on the last from the 23 hand­i­cap­per.

“It’s a great hon­our for our small club to win this event,” said Cather­ine Ir­win, team cap­tain of Kil­ly­moon. “It is our first win and I am so proud of this team for putting our small Cook­stown club on the map!”
