Kane leaves Klopp without answers
Yesterday’s attendance of 80,827 was the highest for a Premier League game, beating the record of 76,098 when Manchester United beat Blackburn 4-1 at Old Trafford in March 2007. Kane a potential World Player of the Year?
Harry Kane now has 17 goals in 16 appearances for club and country this season, which represents a better strike rate than Lionel Messi (18 in 18), Cristiano Ronaldo (11 in 13), and Neymar (9 in 14), who are the frontrunners for Fifa’s World Player of the Year.
So is Kane, still just 24, good enough to maintain this form and get in the running for the 2018 gong? He made the 30-man shortlist this year but no Englishman has actually won either the Fifa version or the Ballon D’OR since Michael Owen in 2001. If he keeps it up, will goals alone be enough to win it for him — or will he need to be part of a Tottenham team who actually win something this year?
