(OFFALY) Cuala have breezed through Leinster with 32 points to spare. Within Dublin, they had narrow wins over St Brigid’s, St Vincent’s and Kilmacud Crokes and lost to Ballyboden. Con O’callaghan has won virtually every competition he’s entered at club, county U21 and county senior level this season. He’s also claimed a football Allstar and the Young Footballer of the Year award. It must have been tough viewing for Cillian Kiely. The and county man failed to overturn a red card in time to play and they badly missed his energy. Cuala captain Paul Schutte injured his hamstring and was taken off.

His brother, Mark, was already in the stand wearing a protective boot on his left ankle. Ger Healion went man to man with Con O’callaghan initially and conceded a goal. Healion was replaced by Enda Grogan, who conceded two further points, with Healion then playing as a sweeper.

Nothing much worked out and Healion eventually ended up at full-forward.
