Mun­ster sign up quar­tet to new deals

Sammy Arnold, Dar­ren O’shea, Conor Oliver, and Dan Gog­gin have inked twoyear con­tracts with Mun­ster. Arnold, who joined the prov­ince at the start of the 201617 sea­son, en­dured sev­eral in­jury set­backs in his first year. How­ever, the 21-yearold cen­tre bounced back to im­press on re­cent out­ings, mak­ing six starts in seven games, scor­ing three tries. For­mer academy player O’shea re­turned to the prov­ince for the 2016-17 sea­son af­ter com­plet­ing two sea­sons with Worces­ter War­riors. The 25-year-old lock has since made 21 ap­pear­ances, scor­ing two tries. Flanker Oliver will ad­vance from a devel­op­ment to a full con­tract next sea­son. The 22-year-old Academy Player of the Year in 2017 has 17 caps. Gog­gin will also ad­vance to a full con­tract at the end of this sea­son. The cen­tre’s pro­gres­sion was halted ear­lier this sea­son when he sus­tained a knee in­jury against Tre­viso in the open­ing round of PRO14. The 23-year-old, who has made 15 Mun­ster ap­pear­ances, re­cently com­pleted his re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion to fea­ture for Mun­ster A in round six of the Bri­tish & Ir­ish Cup.
