Nutty Europeans mess with the Bombay mix

Irish Examiner - Supplement - - 60 YEARS OF EUROPEAN UNITY -

In 2006, it was reported that “nutty” EU officials wanted Bombay mix to be renamed Mumbai mix “to make the snack politically correct”.

While, of course, the story was completely fictional, it has endured to be regularly trotted out as another example of EU bureaucratic madness.

Even Boris Johnson weighed in on “great war against the British prawn cocktail flavour crisp” at one point.

Bombay mix or Mumbai mix? It’s enough to start a war of words.
