Whether you have given your barbeque its first service of the year, or are in the process of unearthing your warm weather clothes, there is no doubt that the Summer is here, and with it the promise of holidays. With tourism numbers ever increasing and services and activities rising up to meet demand, there has never been a better time to choose a staycation.

We’re not the only ones thinking of shunning airplane journeys and white sandy beaches for the short journey and crystal clear water of home this year. Failte Ireland’s Tourism Barometer in November of last year predicted another stellar year for domestic Irish tourism. 65% of hotels surveyed reported an increase in domestic guests in 2016 and two thirds of those surveyed predict that Irish people holidaying at home will have a positive impact on their bottom line for 2017.

Ireland is at its best during the warmer months, where beaches glisten and new growth shoots across our mountainsides. From the Wild Atlantic Way to the majestic beauty of our Northern coasts; from Ancient history across our Eastern boarder to a playground for foodies and families in the south, our island offers a plethora of holiday options for those of us who care to travel.

From Connemara to Cork City, there is something for everyone here at home, just waiting to be discovered. This summer, pack up the car and buy a map because this is the summer of adventure and we are going to show you how to do it.
