Food­ser­vice Acad­emy in­tro­duces buy­ers and pro­duc­ers

Bord Bia and Mus­grave Mar­ket­Place (food­ser­vice arm of Mus­graves) hosted 16 food com­pa­nies for a half-day ‘meet the buyer’ event ear­lier this week in Kings­ley Ho­tel, Cork.

The event was hosted as part of the Food­Ser­vice Acad­emy — the Bord Bia and Mus­grave busi­ness de­vel­op­ment pro­gramme. Par­tic­i­pants have the op­por­tu­nity to achieve growth within Mus­grave Mar­ket­Place’s food­ser­vice busi­ness, sup­ply­ing over 6,000 cus­tomers each week rang­ing from ho­tels and restau­rants to pubs and nurs­ing homes.

Com­pa­nies present at the Kings­ley Ho­tel event in­cluded: Clarafields, Fresh Soup Com­pany, MSC Ven­tures, Mungo Mur­phy’s Sea­weed Co, and ve­gan food sup­plier Natasha’s Liv­ing Food.

Food­ser­vice Acad­emy par­tic­i­pants at­tend work­shops and gain in­dus­try men­tor­ing. Next year, Mus­graves and Bord Bia will grow the four-month pro­gramme even fur­ther.
