Dan Gallagher joins ISE board
FORMER commissioner of the US Securities and Exchange Commission Dan Gallagher has been appointed as a non-executive director to the Irish Stock Exchange (ISE).
Mr Gallagher is currently president of Patomak Global Partners, an international risk consultancy firm.
“Over the years, I have gotten to know and respect the senior management of the ISE and am looking forward to working with them in my new role,” Mr Gallagher said.
“I am also excited to work with the talented members of the board, and I am looking forward to contributing my knowledge and experience of global capital markets regulation to the ISE, especially during such a pivotal time for European capital markets.”
The ISE chief executive, Deirdre Somers, praised his experience in enabling capital markets to provide funding for businesses. “His leadership role in the SEC and his experience of US markets are very relevant in the context of EU’s plans around Capital Markets Union,” Ms Somers said.
Mr Gallagher also joins as a capital markets expert on the ISE’s Regulatory Panel. Pictured at the announcement with Mr Gallagher, left, are Ms Somers and ISE chairman Padraic O’Connor.
