Aldi opens Dublin con­cept store

ALDI Ire­land will be open­ing one of its new con­cept stores in Black­rock as part of the ren­o­vated Fras­cati Shop­ping Cen­tre in Co Dublin.

The well known shop­ping cen­tre will al­most dou­ble in size from 100,000 sq ft to 170,000 sq ft upon com­ple­tion.

An ad­di­tional 23 re­tail units and space will be set aside for restau­rant din­ing with views of Dublin Bay.

Im­proved ac­cess to the cen­tre will be fa­cil­i­tated by a new road junc­tion which will be built on the Fras­cati road, al­low­ing a right turn into the cen­tre when com­ing from Dublin city. Aldi re­cently an­nounced its €60m in­vest­ment in Project Fresh which will also see its store port­fo­lio na­tion­wide re­fit­ted to the lat­est lay­out, whereby fresh pro­duce is dis­played more promi­nently at the front at the store.

The Black­rock shop will meet this for­mat.

“We are ex­cited to be ex­pand­ing our Dublin pres­ence at such a fan­tas­tic lo­ca­tion,” Aldi group man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Giles Hur­ley, in­set, said. “We are con­fi­dent that our pres­ence in the new and im­proved Fras­cati Shop­ping Cen­tre will make Black­rock an even more at­trac­tive des­ti­na­tion for shop­pers.”
