Just two weeks to awards dead­line

THERE are just over two weeks re­main­ing un­til the dead­line for en­tries to the KPMG Ir­ishIn­de­pen­dent Prop­erty In­dus­try Ex­cel­lence Awards. Now into their third year, the awards have recog­nised the achieve­ments of noted prop­erty pro­fes­sion­als such as Bal­ly­more’s Sean Mul­ryan, IPUT and Cos­grave De­vel­op­ments to name but a few.

This year, there are two new awards, for En­ergy Ef­fi­cient Project of the Year and Out­stand­ing Con­tri­bu­tion to the Prop­erty Sec­tor. En­tries for the over­all awards are open un­til Septem­ber 29 next at www.prop­er­tyex­cel­lence awards.com.

Apart from the recog­ni­tion the awards pro­vide to the best of Ire­land’s prop­erty in­dus­try, all pro­ceeds from the event help to fund the Prop­erty Doc­tor­ate re­search pro­gramme at the DIT.

The doc­tor­ate, which has a to­tal value of €90,000, is fur­ther sup­ported by pa­trons Hiber­nia Reit, the Cos­grave Group, Ir­ish Life In­vest­ment Man­agers and Li­ne­sight.

Last week, Lorna Col­ley, who is un­der­tak­ing the DIT prop­erty doc­tor­ate re­search pro­gramme cur­rently, de­liv­ered a pre­sen­ta­tion to the spon­sors and pa­trons on the progress of her first two years of her work, ti­tled ‘ Prop­erty Val­u­a­tion Best Prac­tice for Con­flict of In­ter­est Man­age­ment: The Ir­ish Ex­pe­ri­ence’.
