And what’s the point of being in a club if you don’t benefit from your membership?

In this scenario, there are two questions I believe our farming organisations should be asking themselves.

The first is have we got the calibre of civil servant and politician with the ability to argue the case for prioritised spending on farming.

The second is have we got the allies in Europe to back up this stance?

Past history would indicate a positive answer on both counts.
