ALBERT HAMMOND, one of the most successful songwriters of all time, is set to perform his jukebox of hit pop songs at the 3Arena in Dublin this Saturday.

Hammond ( right)) is famous as the writer of classics like ‘It Never Rains In Southern California’, ‘The Free Electric Band’, ‘The Air That I Breathe’, ‘When I Need You’, ‘To All The Girls I’ve Loved Before’ and ‘One Moment In Time’.

He also penned ‘Make Me An Island’ and ‘You’re Such A Good Looking Woman’, which made our own Joe Dolan an international star. Tickets are available through

Ticketmaster.

— Danny O’Donoghue ( Mark Sheehan and Glen Power — have notched up phenomenal sales of over 29 million records, and are one of the world’s biggest-selling live bands with 1.4 million tickets snapped up for their shows that included a magical night at Croke Park.

Despite their success, Danny tells me they have no intention of slowing down anytime soon. “When we were growing up, U2 were gods in Ireland,” he explains. “And they’re still competing with everybody.”
