Wa­ters tour heads for cap­i­tal

ROGER WA­TERS has an­nounced that he is set to tour Europe next year with a date at Dublin’s 3Arena on June 26.

Tick­ets for the gig go on sale this Thurs­day.

Wa­ters (pic­tured) says the tour, which is called ‘Us + Them’, will fea­ture Pink Floyd clas­sics from their al­bums, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, An­i­mals and Dark Side Of The Moon. There will also be songs from his crit­i­cally ac­claimed new al­bum, Is This The Life We Re­ally Want? The tour ti­tle is from the 1974 track, ‘Us And Them’, from the multi-mil­lion sell­ing Pink Floyd al­bum, Dark Side of the Moon.

WHILE Bill Martin can walk down the street in rel­a­tive peace, ev­ery­one he passes knows his mu­sic.

Along with his co-writ­ing part­ner Phil Coul­ter, Martin has made a time­less con­tri­bu­tion to pop­u­lar cul­ture, cre­at­ing some of the most suc­cess­ful and mem­o­rable hits, in­clud­ing Cliff Richard’s ‘Con­grat­u­la­tions’, Sandie Shaw’s ‘Pup­pet on a String’ and even Elvis Pres­ley’s ‘My Boy’.

He also co-wrote Bay City Roller hits, ‘Shang-A-Lang’ and ‘For­ever and Ever’. Now Martin ( has put pen to pa­per to record his own life story in an au­to­bi­og­ra­phy called

Bill’s tale will have readers rub­bing shoul­ders with some of the en­ter­tain­ment world’s big­gest stars.

The story of this suc­cess­ful song­writer be­gins with his up­bring­ing in Go­van, Glas­gow, where his school pal was none other than Alex Fer­gu­son.

Martin’s life has been a fas­ci­nat­ing one, which makes for an en­ter­tain­ing read.
