MEATH Macra are putting their Royal County credentials into practice this Bank Holiday weekend as they prepare to welcome the masses to the Make It Meath Royal Macra Rally.

It will be Meath’s first time to host the biggest Macra event of the year, which will take place in the CityNorth Hotel in Gormanston.

The theme for Friday night’s much-loved fancy dress is Heroes and Villains, while Saturday’s young farmer conference will cover all aspects of technology in agriculture. Later in the evening, the much sought-after titles of Best New Member and Club of the Year will Bodacious and his canine crew on the Crampton farm in Kilkenny be revealed. On Sunday, free entertainment will be provided to Macra members on the hotel grounds, which will include an inflatable disco tractor and bungee runs.

The weekend will then finish off in style at the banquet that evening.

Chairman Dermot Connolly said: “We’re honoured to be hosting this event for the first time in Meath Macra’s history and are grateful to Meath County Council for sponsoring us. It’s not to be missed.”
