‘Hold milk prices for two months’: ICMSA
THE ICMSA has called for processors to hold milk prices for the next two months as dairy farmers struggle to meet increased costs.
“Milk prices are still under pressure and ICMSA is calling on co-ops and processors to keep farm-gate prices solid over the next two or three months,” said Gerald Quain of the ICMSA dairy committee.
“Everyone knows the hardships being endured at farm level with fodder and concentrate feed costs likely to reach historical highs.
“We repeat our belief that it’s better for support to be shown through maintaining milk price than by support packages or other discretionary payments.”
