GRAND DAM WITH A WINNING LEGACY IN EVENTING AND SHOWJUMPING

-

HILDA Anthony’s mare Uskerty Diamond Lady is from a family of horses that have successfully competed in both eventing and show jumping.

The grand-dam Bold Black Bess bred 11 foals while owned by John Doyle, among them Uskerty Diamond Lady’s dam Uskerty Barnaby.

Also among those from that line was the Forties Field mare Me Julie, who evented in the UK.

Uskerty Barnaby sadly died after foaling in 2017 but has left her legacy with no fewer than a dozen live foals.

One of note is Carrick Diamond Duke, another by Carrick Diamond Lad who won two awards at the USEA Area VI Eventing Awards in 2017 for his owner/rider Cara Lavigna.

John Doyle has retained a full-sister to Uskerty Diamond Lady and in 2017, and again this year, she produced two fillies by Golden Master.

The breeder also has a three-year-old by Generous Lad, while Tom Jones has both a four-year-old and a yearling by his own stallion Carrick Diamond Lad from the same line.

As a sire of performers all over the world, Carrick Diamond Lad needs little introduction. A dual-purpose sire, he has progeny competing in eventing, show jumping and dressage.

Just last month Byrnesgrove First Diamond won the CCI*** in Pratoni, Italy for Stefano Brecciaroli, while Lowhill I Know Dat was in the winner’s enclosure in Moorsele, Belgium with show jumper Stuart Harvey.

Other successful progeny currently competing include the UK-based Thornton Jones (eventing), and Lowhill Ambassador (show jumping) and the US-based Fernhill Jet (show jumping).
