It’s im­por­tant to stay con­nected, she says, whether through face-to-face or vir­tual con­tact: “Car­ing is of­ten a 24/7 role and car­ers may not have the time to get out and so­cialise, and they risk be­com­ing cut off from the out­side world. It’s very im­por­tant to stay con­nected with oth­ers and it can be done face to face, or through phone, email, Skype or through so­cial me­dia. Carer sup­port groups are a good way of do­ing this too.”
