Hayfever sea­son is here and it’s time to dust down tips on how to min­imise symp­toms over the months ahead.

Sneez­ing and cough­ing, runny or blocked nose, itchy, red or wa­tery eyes, and itchy throat, mouth and nose are all too fa­mil­iar to suf­fer­ers. Tips in­clude: Ω put Vase­line around your nos­trils to trap pollen Ω wear wrap­around sun­glasses to stop pollen get­ting into your eyes Ω shower and change your clothes af­ter you’ve been out­side to wash pollen off Ω stay in­doors when­ever pos­si­ble Ω keep win­dows and doors shut as much as pos­si­ble Ω vac­uum reg­u­larly and dust with a damp cloth Ω try an­ti­his­tamine drops, tablets or nasal sprays Ω Don’t dry clothes out­side – they can catch pollen Ω Don’t let pollen-car­ry­ing pets into the house, if pos­si­ble.
