The legendarily talented opera singer Maria Callas died on September 16, 1977. To mark the 40th anniversary of her death, the opera-themed show Celebrating Callas — which is written and produced by Niall Morris and has consistently enjoyed sell-out performances in the last five years — comes to the National Concert Hall on September 17. Irish soprano Máire Flavin ( pictured) plays Callas, and the roles of the men in her life are performed by Irish baritone Gavan Ring and UK tenor Alexander James Edwards, who recently played Luciano Pavarotti in the hit show Nessun Dorma.
