Ali McGovern’s perfect life — a perfect husband, a dream house, a happy son and a successful business — has withered and died, and ghosts in her past are haunting her.

A job at Howell Hall, a private psychiatric facility close to her shabby rented cottage in the shadow of a ruined Abbey, offers hope of redemption.

But when a body is discovered in a shallow grave in the Abbey grounds, all her doubts about the facility, its inmates and the strange owners are brought into sharp focus, and she realises to her horror that her teenage son Angelo is somehow involved in the events that are threatening her sanity and her family.

An enjoyable semi-gothic tale that requires just a tad of suspension of disbelief.
