How to Stop Brexit
Bodley Head, 160 pages, €10
The former leader of the Liberal Democrats has, like many non-Tory politicians, been vehemently opposed to Brexit, and in this polemical book he argues that it is still possible to have the decision overturned. Clegg suggests that a sizable proportion of the British electorate who voted in favour of leaving the EU have changed their minds — not least because many of the promises from the leave side turned out to be hollow and full of inaccuracies. As a result, Clegg believes it is their democratic right to have another vote. He suggests that failure to stop Brexit will set Britain back for generations, something, of course, which may have a knock-on effect in this country.
