BBC Radio 4’s I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue is a long-run comedy panel show that plays on words and meanings. This companion book takes a witty look at the new definitions of certain words. ‘Algebra’ is a “brassiere made from kelp”, for instance, ‘decadence’ means “10 times as stupid” while ‘cardiology’ is, apparently, “the study of knitwear”.

It’s written by several of the shows regulars, including Graeme Garden — formerly a member of the British comedy trio the Goodies — and is likely to appeal to wordsmiths and punlovers alike. Fans of the show, which is presented by Jack Dee, will need little introduction; for others, this book may be the gateway to a whole new radio experience.
