Brennan wins Gary Freeman Invitational

SHANNON’S Danny Brennan (right) claimed his third win in five starts when he took the individual honours in the Gary Freeman Spring Invitational at LPGA International.

Following victories in the Homewood Hilton Airport Invite at Old Corkscrew Golf Club last November and last month’s Stetson Legacy Intercollegiate, Brennan (23) shot rounds of 76, 69 and 73 to win by a shot on two-over 218 from Fort Wayne’s Zach Schroeder.

Bethune-Cookman entered the final round trailing Fort Wayne by four strokes. But Brennan’s closing 73 was enough to give them the team honours by four shots.
