6. Envisage your ideas

Mark your plan out in the garden using line-marking spray paint, the garden hose or bamboo stakes and string. Adapt your plan where necessary using bold lines and, if you are using curves, make simple, deep sweeps. Then walk through the plot, seeing how it feels.
