RTÉ should be applauded
■ So, when we finally have a balanced and factual debate on the Eighth Amendment, we have the Taoiseach, who refused to take part, claiming there was a lot of “point-scoring” on the programme.
Of course, it was a surprise to him as the No side has had very few opportunities to present its case as practically all journalists are not just in favour of repealing the amendment, but many are actively campaigning for it.
Therefore, the debate was a unique experience of proper broadcasting by our national station and I say well done to all concerned.
