FF to blame for water woes

-

■ I am wondering why there is no correspondence in your newspaper highlighting how the power-hungry policies of Fianna Fáil have again brought Ireland to its knees.

Many are left without water and farms are in danger of failing through a lack of clean and plentiful supply in a country which has gone through one of its wettest springs.

Where is all the water going in Dublin? What happens when water is cut off in hospitals? Why is there no control and no limits on abuse?

If we turn back the clock a bit, we had two scorching summers in 1976 and 1977, with severe water shortages. What happened next? Rates were removed, and with them went the money which might have been spent fixing water supplies over the past 40 years.

Cut to the present and we finally get a system set up to manage water and secure supplies for the future, and guess who blocks it – all for cheap political populism?
