FA shocked as Jose escapes punishment
THE English Football Association (FA) was shocked and still considering an appeal last night after losing a landmark disciplinary case against Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
United’s decision to mount a robust defence, using linguistic analysis and citing precedents, was vindicated as Mourinho was found not guilty of a charge of using abusive, insulting or improper language.
Mourinho was alleged to have shouted: “Fodas filhos de puta,” which translates as: “F*** off sons of b ****** ,” into a BT Sport television camera moments after United’s 3-2 comeback win against Newcastle last month.
