Insigne keeps Napoli on track

-

NAPOLI moved level with Group C leaders Liverpool after coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain at the Stadio San Paolo.

PSG, who are a point behind, took the lead in first-half stoppage time through Juan Bernat.

However, Napoli rallied following the restart, forcing veteran ’keeper Gianluigi Buffon into a string of fine saves before Lorenzo Insigne levelled things up from the penalty spot.

Barcelona have qualified for the last 16 following a 1-1 draw at Inter Milan in Group B. Substitute Malcom put them ahead with a strike in the 83rd minute, two minutes after coming off the bench, but Mauro Icardi equalised in the 87th to end the visitors’ 100pc record. Lionel Messi was once again not involved, having missed Barca’s previous four matches with a fractured arm.

Club Brugge stunned Monaco 4-0 on the Mediterranean coast to extend Thierry Henry’s winless run in the principality to five games and to keep the Belgium club’s hopes alive.

Atletico Madrid moved level on points at the top of Group A with Borussia Dortmund thanks to a comfortable 2-0 win over the Germans, with goals from Saul Niguez and Antoine Griezmann ending the visitors’ 15-game unbeaten run.
