Police probe dead badger cruelty case

-

A DEAD badger was found hanging from a tree in what is believed to be a shocking case of animal cruelty.

Police investigating the incident in the village of Plaxtol, Kent, are appealing for witnesses.

Sergeant Marc Pennicott, of Kent Police, said: “Officers from the RSPCA also attended and their vet has found that the animal died before being hung up.

“But we don’t know how the badger died. I am keen to hear from anyone who may have information.”

It is illegal to kill or harm a badger under 1992 The Protection of Badgers Act – and the culprit faces six months in jail if caught.
