Tourist held in Tener­ife af­ter leav­ing girl, 8, to go drink­ing

A TOURIST has been ar­rested af­ter al­legedly leav­ing his eight-year-old daugh­ter alone in a Tener­ife ho­tel while he went out drink­ing.

It was re­ported the young­ster went to re­cep­tion with suit­cases, say­ing her dad had re­turned to their room un­der the in­flu­ence and “caus­ing dam­age”.

The 52-year-old Bri­ton is said to have been held by po­lice af­ter ap­pear­ing naked and with a gash to his head in the early hours of Fri­day. It was not clear where the girl’s mum was at the time. It is be­lieved she was later asked to col­lect her daugh­ter from so­cial ser­vices car­ers.

The in­ci­dent is said to have taken place at the Ho­tel Agua­ma­rina Golf, near Tener­ife South Air­port.

Last Septem­ber, po­lice in Ma­jorca ar­rested a Bri­tish holidaymaker ac­cused of aban­don­ing her seven-year-old son in a ho­tel room to go par­ty­ing.

And in Benidorm, a Brit was held last July af­ter be­ing ac­cused of aban­don­ing her twins, nine, while out drink­ing.
