Tourist held in Tenerife after leaving girl, 8, to go drinking

A TOURIST has been arrested after allegedly leaving his eight-year-old daughter alone in a Tenerife hotel while he went out drinking.

It was reported the youngster went to reception with suitcases, saying her dad had returned to their room under the influence and “causing damage”.

The 52-year-old Briton is said to have been held by police after appearing naked and with a gash to his head in the early hours of Friday. It was not clear where the girl’s mum was at the time. It is believed she was later asked to collect her daughter from social services carers.

The incident is said to have taken place at the Hotel Aguamarina Golf, near Tenerife South Airport.

Last September, police in Majorca arrested a British holidaymaker accused of abandoning her seven-year-old son in a hotel room to go partying.

And in Benidorm, a Brit was held last July after being accused of abandoning her twins, nine, while out drinking.
