Irish Sunday Mirror - - NEWS - BY JOHN KELLY

ITALIAN football fans paid their own moving tribute to Bradley Lowery on the day of the boy’s funeral.

At Roma’s friendly with FC Slovacko, fans unveiled a banner reading “RIP Piccolo (litttle) Bradley”.

The six-year-old mascot for Sunderland, Everton and England died of neuroblastoma, a rare cancer of the nervous system.

He had struck up a remarkable friendship with footballer Jermain Defoe, 34, who was at the funeral on Friday.

Yesterday, Sunderland and St Johnstone fans paid their respects at a friendly.

Sunderland tweeted: “Everyone is on their feet in Mcdiarmid Park with a rousing applause held to remember @Bradleysfight. A nice touch from @St_ Johnstone_fc.”
