Dublin Horse Show reigns with Ladies Day

There’s just weeks to go un­til one of the most glam­orous so­cial event’s of the year kicks off. Ladies’ Day at the Dublin Horse Show is the long­est run­ning and most pres­ti­gious such out­ing in the coun­try.

This year the event, spon­sored again by Dun­drum Town Cen­tre, will take place on Thurs­day, Au­gust 10, and fea­tures a num­ber of cat­e­gories in­clud­ing the Best Dressed Lady which is worth €10,000.

Other cat­e­gories on the day in­clude, Great Lengths’ Most Cre­ative Hat, Louis Copeland’s Best Dressed Man and Longines’ El­e­gance Is An At­ti­tude.

Judg­ing the event will be stylist Court­ney Smith, fash­ion ed­i­tor Bair­bre Power and Dun­drum Town Cen­tre per­sonal stylist Lorna Weight­man. Xpose pre­sen­ter Cassie Stokes will be guest MC on the day. Last year Claire Mur­phy, from Tralee, Co Kerry took home the top prize wear­ing a Carol Ken­nelly Millinery (Tralee) head­piece and a Tina Grif­fin (Kil­lor­glin) de­signed dress mak­ing her dressed head to toe in de­signs from the King­dom.

The 2017 Dublin Horse Show, which is now in its 144th year, is run­ning from Au­gust 9 to 13 at the his­toric grounds of the Royal Dublin So­ci­ety in Balls­bridge.

To en­ter the Ladies Day com­pe­ti­tion, all you need to do is glam up and buy a gen­eral ad­mis­sion ticket for the Dublin Horse Show for the Thurs­day.

The Dun­drum Town Cen­tre Ladies Day regis­tra­tion desk opens from 11.30am and will be lo­cated on the Band Lawn in­side the RDS show grounds.
