Niamh nets historic goal with FAI post
Niamh O’donoghue NIAMH O’donoghue has become the first woman elected to the board of management of the FAI.
The Women’s FAI chairperson was appointed after a merger between the two associations.
Sports Minister Dahne Ross said: “I would like to congratulate Niamh on her historic appointment.
“It is the first time in the history of the association the FAI has appointed a woman board member and it is a clear demonstration of their commitment to the development of women’s football in Ireland.
“I know from my recent meeting with Niamh and John Delaney, the FAI CEO, women’s football is very much to the forefront of the FAI’S thinking.”
