High voltage secrets of the stars I Riri don’t want to be pals, Katy!

THE DEAL WITH THE REAL SEAL

Irish Sunday Mirror - - NEWS -

He Seal-ed the deal with Heidi Klum in 2005, enjoying sevenyears of wedded bliss.

But following their surprise split the singer tells me he no longer believes in marriage: “You should be scared of it. I very much believe two people should be together.

“I’m very much a romantic. But marriage, the institution of it, is like an outdated contract. It doesn’t work in today’s society. Look at the statistics. It’s a harsh reality. It’s absurd. The institution of ‘death do us part’, it’s like... bloody hell.”

The 54-year-old says: “I’m single, whatever that means. Sure, I have people I see. I do have a lot of love in my life now and that’s very fulfilling.”

The couple were famous for their outrageous Halloween parties. But Seal says: “That wasn’t my idea, that was more my ex’s... charade. I was a team player but that wasn’t my thing.”

He also said the reason he appeared on America’s Got Talent with judge Heidi, 44, last month was for their four kids.

He says: “Heidi and I are functional, we’ve got no choice, we’ve got four kids. I went on the show for them.”

Seal is back with a new album of modern classics titled Standards, released on November 10.

The ladies have not been seen together for more than a year and have gone to extreme lengths to avoid each other at recent showbiz events.

Tellingly, Katy was absent from Rihanna’s Los Angeles Diamond Ball charity bash this week. And on the red carpet Rihanna made an astonishing dig at the woman she once described as “one of my best friends in the industry”.

When asked if she would join Katy on the new American Idol panel, she looked unimpressed before sniping: “I don’t know, it depends on how bored I am.” Whispers about their apparent fall-out started going round when Katy was the only big name absent from Rihanna’s MET Gala Afterparty.

The Firework singer then spent Coachella fretting with pals about how her close friend seemed to be freezing her out. They spent the festival apart, with Rihanna snubbing Katy’s shoe launch.

A source said: “They didn’t have a big bust-up over one specific thing, but over time their friendship has gone from being one of the strongest to practically nonexistent. Katy was pretty gutted about it.

“Some pals have said they just grew apart when she started dating Orlando Bloom last year but the reality is, nobody

her. Her lyrics included “Yeah, we made no trouble, we played by the rules / I worked double shift to get my kids from school!” - something unlikely to resonate with this out-of-touch Tory. A fellow reveller tells me: “Matt looked incredibly uncomfortable and so did his wife. They looked like they wanted to escape but they couldn’t.” knows exactly what went down between the pair.” The girls were once so close that Rihanna attended Katy’s hen party ahead of her marriage to Russell Brand. She also gushed about her in an interview, saying: “She’s unbelievable, unbelievable! She is such a strong being. She wants to be there for me and I’m like, ‘Girl, I’m supposed to be there for you, don’t worry about me right now!’ She’s incredible like that. She’s one of my best friends in the industry.” With Taylor Swift falling out with people faster than she can write chart toppers, pop music needs strong female friendships to inspire young fans. I hope these ladies can patch things up.
