Chats with Healy-rae too juicy for Lucy Scenes cut from hit TV3 show

Irish Sunday Mirror - - NEWS -

Mother of three Lucy Kennedy think Michael Healy-rae is a better show if I’m honest. “I think it’s a true depiction of Living With Lucy. “It’s funny and warm.” Mr Healy-rae is a member of one of Ireland’s most successful political families. His brother Danny is also a TD and his late father Jackie was a titanic figure in South Kerry and held no small amount of sway in the Dail.

The 50-year-old is openly opposed to same-sex marriage and the 8th Amendment Referendum.

Asked whether she pressed the Kerryman on his opinions, Lucy said: “We talked about his thoughts on gay marriage. We did discuss a lot of things but legally it just didn’t make the cut.

“People have to remember that as close to reality as Living With Lucy is, it is a television programme so stuff has to be taken out.

“I loved him. I had bad hay fever and they have a cat so I walked around his house with shades on.” Busy Lucy is also gearing up to host the debut series of TV3’S new talent contest.

She said: “Ireland’s Got Talent is right up my street. I really think it’s going to be huge.

“There’s been loads of magicians, the weirder and the wackier the better.”
