Around world dream sunk two days

Irish Sunday Mirror - - NEWS -

A YOUNG couple who sold all they owned to spend their lives sailing the world saw their dream capsize after two days at sea.

Tanner Broadwell, 26, and Nikki Walsh, 24, jumped overboard with their dog as their boat sank after losing its keel at a dock near Tampa, Florida.

The pair, with no sailing experience, had scraped together €8,000 for the houseboat because they were “sick of their jobs”.

Coastguards have now ordered them to salvage the uninsured 28ft boat, which will cost another €8,000. They have only €70 between them.

Tanner said: “I lost all I had in 20 minutes.”
