Dead woman at mortuary for 4 months

Irish Sunday Mirror - - STYLE ON SUNDAY -

A WOMAN’S body is still in a hospital mortuary four months after she died because of a dispute over her funeral.

Former auxiliary nurse Joan Ramsdale, 95, should have been cremated or buried in October when she died of natural causes.

But her son John, her sole carer, said his “life fell apart” after she died and he failed to answer calls.

Mr Ramsdale, of Litherland, Merseyside, then tried to stop the council having his mum buried because he did not agree with the choice of undertakers. Sefton Council said it hopes to sort out the funeral after another relative got in touch.
