HSE should not limit pain relief
ANNE Marie Healy lives in constant pain from her rheumatoid arthritis and has had to endure 40 operations.
The only relief she ever got was from skin patches called Versatis but last year their use was restricted leaving her on a daily cocktail of painkillers and anti-inflammatories.
She cannot dress, wash or cook and is now in a wheelchair.
Senator Rose Conway-walsh is right to call for a review of the decision to withdraw the patches. The HSE must urgently look at this again. People like Anne Marie should not be living in daily agony.
