My Argentine Tango’s a gas, says sore Kate

- BY OLIVIA BUXTON

Fizzing with bounce and energy, Lauren and AJ opened last night’s show with a bang. As an athlete she has the stamina for the jive. Her confidence is growing. Score: 31

Shirley said Graeme and Oti’s waltz made her feel “all fuzzy”. Whatever floats your boat! The concentration was etched on his face, bless him, but he pulled it off. Score: 29

A rather heavy-footed Argentine Tango from Kate. She is injured but it still wasn’t passionate or sharp enough. She and Aljaz could be in dance off danger. Score: 23

You could tell Dr Ranj was dancing to his fave singer George Michael. He and Janette had a blast with a carnival-inspired samba. He might sashay his way into next week. Score: 27

Fred and Ginger eat your heart out! Stacey and Kevin’s couple’s choice street and commercial dance was so imaginative and unusual. I want them to win! Score: 36

I didn’t think Freedom by Pharell Williams worked for a quickstep but Danny always leads Amy with panache even when he’s making mistakes! Not his best dance. Score: 22

Little Miss Perfect Ashley turned out another flawless performance in her foxtrot with Pasha. Is it mean of me to want her to make a mistake just once? Score: 39

Daring, dramatic, and so passionate, Faye and her Italian stallion Giovanni have real chemistry. Their tango moves were, as Bruno said, “tighter than Craig’s girdle.” Score: 38

In this relaxed, romantic Viennese waltz to Billy Joel’s Piano Man, Charles was Karen’s confident and charming leading man. If he asked me to dance I would. Score 28

What a finale! Joe threw some serious shapes in a powerful Paso Doble. I’m not sure what Dianne is doing to him but she’s made him a reallly macho matador! Score: 34 Dianne and Joe take to the dancefloor on last night’s Strictly Conor says Joe will win

Others have dubbed Joe and Dianne’s relationship a “showmance” and believe they are just enjoying being in the spotlight.

Whatever the nature of their relationship, it seems to have rubbed off on Joe’s dancing. Conor – who was in the audience last week – is so impressed with his pal’s performances he’s tipped him for the Strictly crown.

He said: “Joe’s having the time of his life on the show. He is so much better than I thought he would be. I honestly believe he’s going to win.”

Conor also revealed his pal is a talented singer. He said: “Joe and I have recorded a whole load of songs. It could be an album. There’s a lot of potential.”

Slim, snake-hipped Joe danced the Paso Doble with Dianne on last night’s show, but Conor hopes they try some role reversal within their routines.

He laughed: “Joe is so childlike. I can’t wait for when he starts doing dances and Diane starts lifting him!”

The newsreader, 48, shared a video of herself giggling while inhaling gas and air pain-relief on Kate laps it up

Singer Conor Maynard has been buddies with Joe for years, but has never known the video blogger to have a sweetheart.

Now with rumours rife that Joe and Dianne are more than just friends, Conor is crossing his fingers for his pal.

He said: “Joe has been single the entire time I’ve known him. That has been a good few years.

“But it seems like he is in a really good place right now. I feel he should do what he wants. If he’s happy then that’s great and he should go for it.”

Joe, 27, and Dianne, 29, have grown close on the show, with reports suggesting she has stayed the night at his place.

Rumours began to fly after Dianne split with her Emmerdale actor ex Anthony Quinlan.

Friday. Despite the setback, Kate vowed to push on with her Argentine Tango with partner Aljaz Skorjanec last night “if it’s the last thing I do”.

Laughing Kate said in the clip: “The last time I did this was in childbirth. I’ve forgotten how good it was. I’ve somehow stripped the muscle in my rib on my best dance.”

She then pointed the camera at the medic treating her, who joked she was “sucking the life out of” the pain relief Entonox.
