Nelson lauds it up

European Round-up

ENGLAND’S wonderkids lit up the Bundesliga as Reiss Nelson and Jadon Sancho inspired their clubs.

Nelson, who is on loan from Arsenal, scored a stunning goal to help Hoffenheim beat Leverkusen 4-1.

The 18-year-old received the ball from a corner on the left and curled a 25-yard shot into the far corner.

Sancho was also in fine form for league leaders Borussia Dortmund. The new Engand cap got his ninth assist of the season, crossing for Marco Reus to score the only goal in a win at Wolfsburg.

In Spain, Atletico Madrid threw away the chance to go top of La Liga by conceding a late equaliser to draw 1-1 at neighbours Leganes.

France forward Antoine Griezmann had given Diego Simeone’s side the lead with a sizzling free-kick in the 69th minute in a tight game at the Butarque Stadium. But Leganes hit back when striker Guido Carrillo stabbed a loose ball over the line eight minutes from time after full-back Rodrigo Tarin’s cross thumped off the underside of the bar.

In Italy, Inter Milan notched up their seventh successive Serie A victory when two goals from Roberto Gagliardini helped them thump mid-table Genoa 5-0 at the San Siro, while Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi scored a late goal to draw 1-1 at Fiorentina.
