Ross talk hits its mark

-

Ross (below) said: “I told them to be patient and continue to do the things we were good at and we started the second half brightly and, ultimately, that period led to our first goal.

“I thought we were good in the first half and they defended their box well and we got a little bit impatient and narrow in terms of trying to force things through the middle of the pitch.

“We have been clinical this season and our forward players have been good. We always stress about width and possession in that final third because it stretches teams and we got a bit narrow. “To the players’ credit, they took on the information and that made the park bigger in that opening part of the second half. The boys have been good for me this season and, at the moment, they are churning out results, which is a terrific place to be.” Plymouth boss Derek Adams believed his side should have come out on top. He said: “I think we were the better team. “Their goalkeeper has had a man-of-the-match display and we went toe to toe with a team that has a lot of talent. “I don’t think a defeat is the right result.”
