Russia quits nuclear pact

RUSSIA has pulled the plug on an international nuclear pact, following the US in its own withdrawal of the treaty.

President Putin said he will develop a new range of missiles as he abolishes involvement in the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty.

He said his move comes as a response to President Trump’s announcement the US will no longer abide by the Cold War pact, signed in 1987.
