Kath gets her medal A GREAT gran who failed to collect a medal she won in the Second World War has finally been awarded it.

Kathleen Blower, 96, always believed “only men got them for fighting”.

But granddaugh­ter Lisa Davidson found the former Wren, who ran naval stores in Portsmouth was due a service medal.

Royal Navy Commander Ben Keith presented it to Mrs Blower at her care home. She said: “I am very pleased and proud.” Andrew Baker
