Harris livid at Wood

- By RON LEWIS at The Den

NEIL HARRIS blasted Rotherham captain Richard Wood for a “horrendous” two-footed challenge on Lions keeper Jordan Archer.

Wood’s lunge on Archer early in the second half sparked a mass brawl (below), although referee Andrew Madley only booked the defender.

Harris said: “It is a horrendous challenge, he jumps over Shaun Williams two-footed to get a challenge on Jordan Archer. It’s nasty.

“If the referee gives a card for the challenge it has to be a red one. You can normally see from the reaction of the players what went on.

“The referee thought the ball was there to be won. He’s a good referee.”

It took Rotherham until 10 minutes into the second half to create a decent chance, when Michael Smith muscled his way past Shaun Hutchinson and forced Archer into a fine save.

From the resulting corner, Smith’s shot was blocked on the line by Ben Marshall and as Archer clung to the loose ball, he was caught late by Wood.

Deep into stoppage time, Jed Wallace broke clear and centred to Lee Gregory, but he pushed a great chance wide.

“To have conceded that late would have been a massive psychological blow,” said Rotherham manager Paul Warne.
