Northampton 0 Colchester 4
JOHN MCGREAL called Colchester’s impressive rout of Northampton “terrific”. United led at the break thanks to Frank Nouble’s close-range finish, but they went through the gears in the second half with Abobaker Eisa, Kane Vincent-young and Sammie Szmodics all scoring for their second win in eight games. “It was a terrific all-round performance,” said Mcgreal. “The pace when we went through the thirds was a joy to watch from a young, dynamic footballing team.” Northampton boss Keith Curle was frustrated by fine margins, and said: “You could say they had 10 chances, we had nine and yet they’ve scored four goals and we haven’t scored.”
