11yr-old boy critical after road smash

A YOUNG boy is in a critical condition in hospital after a crash in which four others were injured.

The horrific incident happened when two vehicles collided in the Knocknabou­l area of Ballydesmo­nd, Co Cork, at 4.45pm on Friday.

The 11-year-old boy was airlifted to Limerick Regional Hospital.

The driver and three other passengers suffered non life-threatenin­g injuries. The driver of the other car was unhurt.
