Let’s pull together.. and think of service industry staff
I GOT a sneak peak into a Dublin pub, a restaurant and a hair salon this week ahead of opening day tomorrow.
The amount of work required to open our favourite salons, eateries and drinks haunts is colossal.
Staff are naturally apprehensive that they’ll adhere to the guidelines. The Mirror was invited to check out Aidan Fitzgerald’s Hair Salon Blackrock, family-run pub Gibney’s in Malahide and Roly’s Bistro in Ballsbridge, all gearing up for reopening and trying to make things feel normal. As we all rush to get a pint, eat out and get our muchneeded hair-do, let’s spare a thought for frontline workers in the industry.
They’re up against it and trying to accommodate the serious backlog of desperate customers dying to get out of their houses.
