Car al­most hit pa­trol ve­hi­cle

A man ac­cused of dan­ger­ous driv­ing af­ter he al­most col­lided with a garda pa­trol ve­hi­cle has been dis­qual­i­fied from driv­ing for two years at Drogheda Dis­trict Court.

Ben O’Brien (23), Hard­mans Gar­dens was ac­cused of dan­ger­ous driv­ing, hav­ing no in­sur­ance and driv­ing with­out a driv­ing li­cence aris­ing out of the in­ci­dent in Pearse Park on Jan­uary 13th, 2017.

In ev­i­dence, gar­daí said that while car­ry­ing out en­quiries in Pearse Park on the date in ques­tion he ob­served a Black Honda Civic car. He said the ve­hi­cle was slid­ing from side to side in ex­cess of the speed limit and al­most col­lided with the pa­trol ve­hi­cle. Judge John Cough­lan dis­qual­i­fied the de­fen­dant from driv­ing for two years for hav­ing no in­sur­ance and dan­ger­ous driv­ing and im­posed two €200 fines.
