I WON­DER does the box­ing club still have it?

In the 1950s, Drogheda Am­a­teur Box­ing Club re­ceived a very ac­cept­able present, the donor be­ing the above Mr. Thomas Be­han and the gift took the form of a sup­ple­ment to the “New York Po­lice Gazette” of De­cem­ber 15th, 1894, and de­picted world heavy­weight cham­pion, James J. Cor­bett along with “Bob” Fitzsi­mons (who later wore the heavy­weight crown) prior to their bout for the world ti­tle.

The sup­ple­ment, in colour, was is in per­fect con­di­tion, and the cham­pi­onship belt pro­vided a back­ground to the box­ers. Mr. Be­han, an old fight fan, had the sup­ple­ment for many years.
